Kevin Devine is an intelligent and very listenable artist (yes, music that I find enjoyable that has no screaming!) who is not afraid to speak his mind.  But when he does he is intelligent, no wasted breaths here, none of the aimless, endless, same-old-same-old you get with that dead genre: punk.

Kevin Devine has been demoing for a new album and one of the most powerful songs from these sessions is one that now has the official title: “Another Bag Of Bones.”

Devine recently spoke about the song and its early pre-album 7″ release – which is coming out next month – in an interview with Spin magazine.  It is a quick read and includes a streaming studio version of the song that will be available on the 7″. (more…)

Part I – Politics:
The first thing here, the key, is to actually be registered to vote. As an active voter you can reject the past by throwing the old regime out and brining in new ideas, policies, hope for change, and the almost certain prospect of new failures to later rally against when the next election comes.

Now look at your party affiliation. Think about the ideology that party supports, think of the general platform of the party. How much do you agree with it? How much has the party delivered on these high ideals? How many promises has this party kept to you? (more…)
