Hey Folks,
After spending the summer reading all of the engaging material that passed over this blog, I had to set aside my personal feelings toward blogging and join the fun. For my first post, I’ve decided to step back from the political debates and masturbatory music talk and take everyone back to a simpler time. A time when we had a democratic president, when we could smoke in restaurants, and when children’s cartoons drove home public service messages about the dangers of alcohol abuse.
After spending my day off watching episodes of Tiny Toons, a popular 90s cartoon, I found one gem in particular that made me nostalgic for my childhood. In this sketch, Buster and friends experiment with alcohol, hallucinate, steal a cop car, crash it, only to walk away from the experience no worse for the wear. Hey, it’s just a cartoon.
Enjoy this politically incorrect walk down memory lane.
There are so many great things about this cartoon. I love the postmodern jabs at being forced to do an obligatory anti-alcohol episode.
Drink beer, go to heaven.
You want to get in on this deal Schindy?
I’ve decided that if I throw your desk out of the room and make you use the amazing machine that is our new coffee table… then I will buy you a handle of Gin. The first days of school need to be explosive. Here’s to seeing Gindel in full glory. Also I’ve only heard a short version of your “epic” tale through Napier’s interpretation. I think you need to write it down and post on the old Fuck Squad.
See you soon lovely.
